About Halu

Halu is a women-only house of 5 private rooms. Its counter kitchen faces the dining area, so whoever is cooking is never cut off from the conversation.

All of the upstairs rooms have their own balcony, and the kitchen comes with a rice cooker, toaster oven, blender and more.

Your room

A bed, desk and chair, storage and air conditioning in every private room — move in with just your suitcase.

Kitchen

Frying pans, dishes, a rice cooker, a microwave oven, a blender, a hand mixer and more.

Living room

A TV to relax in front of with your housemates.

Laundry

Washing machine, plus an iron and ironing board.

Rent includes utilities, Wi-Fi, basic supplies such as toilet paper, bin bags and cleaning products (please bring your own laundry detergent), and regular cleaning of shared spaces by our staff. No need to buy furniture or appliances — a good fit for anyone coming to Kyoto to study, work or do a working holiday.

Studying, working or training in Kyoto? Our housemates include university and exchange students, Japanese language school students, working holiday makers and remote workers. Ritsumeikan University (Kinugasa campus), Bukkyo University and Otani University are nearby, and Doshisha University and Kyoto University are a direct bus ride away. Every private room has a desk, Wi-Fi is available in every house, and some housemates train at an aikido dojo in the neighbourhood.
