3 hours a day, done by 1 pm

Shifts run from 10:00 to 13:00. We’d love you to work 3 or more days a week, but we can adjust to your schedule — and it’s fine to combine this with another job.

Cleaning, bed-making and housekeeping at Expo House and Expo Hostel & Cottage — all in Nishijin. From time to time we may also ask you to help at events.

  3. 3

Work alongside a small international team. On share house event days, if you’d like to join the event, we can adjust your shift.

How much can you earn?

With 3-hour shifts (10:00–13:00), here’s roughly what you could earn in a month — while keeping your afternoons free.

4 days a week≈ 52 hours · ¥65,000 / month
Another job too?No problemShifts end at 1 pm, so they fit easily around another part-time job or school.

Good to know

Do I need to speak Japanese?

No. Simple English or Japanese is enough to do the job — the most important thing is that you’re willing to communicate. Everyday Japanese (around N3) is a plus, so please tell us your level in the form.

What does the job involve?

Cleaning, bed-making and housekeeping at our share houses and at Expo Hostel & Cottage. There’s no reception work. From time to time we may ask you to help out at events. And on share house event days, if you’d rather join the event than work, just let us know and we’ll adjust your shift.

How many days a week would I work?

Shifts are basically 10:00–13:00. Ideally you’d work 3 or more days a week, but we can adjust to fit your schedule. Let us know your availability in the form.

Can I have another part-time job as well?

Yes. Our shifts end at 1 pm (10:00–13:00), so you can combine this job with another part-time job, studies or language school. Just let us know your availability.

Is transport paid?

No, there’s no transport allowance.

Can I apply before I arrive in Japan?

Yes. If you don’t have your visa yet, choose “Other / not yet obtained” and add the details in the message field. If you don’t have a Japanese phone number yet, just enter “0”.

I’m also looking for a place to live. Can I rent a room at Expo House?

Yes — you’re welcome to enquire about a room like anyone else. Our workplaces are all in Nishijin, just a few minutes’ walk from our share houses. Please note that each private room is for one person only. See our houses

Already living at Expo House?
